My orange soap had oily sludge all over it it, the amout was about half of my superfats and now there is no orange smell. I used orange, tangerina and bergamot oil andi it seems like they did not blend into the soap, I soap in a pvc pipe , and I covered it up with towels and blankets. could it have overheated or?
I tested the soap and no zap ( tested every bar, crazy I know) .
If I cut it up into chunks to make confetti soap does it have to cure and dry compleatly or can I just place the chunks in a mold and make another batch an pour over? I've read about spraying alcohol over the chunks, is that necessary?

Spraying with alcohol is to prevent ash. I have a soap I just did that I had a similar result oily to the touch about a week later. I believe I didn't use enoungh lye I am gonna try rebatching it this evening. Citrus oils are tough to make hang around I hear. I don't really know how to fix that. HTH

Thank you for the reply, I have heard that about citrus scents, but I did a lemon lime and bergamot soap and it is perfect, really strong scent, but only a week since I made that one. But I hope the bergamot will ancor the lime and lemon to stay longer.
