Ok, I did a CPHP soap yesterday and well it didn't work out too good LOL

This morning it was a milky solid color on bottom, but a gelatinous mess on top. Dunno what went wrong, but I zap tested the gelatinous mess and it was ok, just gross.

So I read up on rebatching and decided to give that whipped rebatch a try. I should probably stick to my skill level ( which is basically ZERO ) and do something simpler but whatever, I figured the soap was ruined anyway, I certainly couldn't hurt it any more than it all ready was.

I melted it, whipped it, melted it more, whipped it more, whipped it a little more, and then well whipped it yet some more. I ended up with this incredibly creamy gloop that I plopped into moulds and let set.

Well, it set up and I unmolded a bit ago. I uhm, think I created sponge soap. Seriously, it's firm, yet spongy when you touch it. It's giving off an incredibly creamy, slippery lather and I'm wondering......

If this doesn't harden up to a really firm kinda soap, can I possibly remelt it yet again, whip it a bit more, toss in a touch of vitamin E oil, and stick it in small containers to use as shaving soap ????

Good for you! Whipped soap takes a week or two to finish setting up. It isn't going to feel the same as a CP or HP soap. If you really hate it - you can melt it down again for a rebatch.

I really like it creamy/spongy the way it is right now. All I'm hoping for is that it firms up just a bit more. I took a small piece into the shower with me earlier today and LOVED the lather, etc. but it smooshed and disintegrated pretty quick. Ooops :)

It is going to take a little longer to harden up and even then it's not going to be as hard as CP. However like you I enjoy it and the lather is fabulous. As you continue to work with it, it can become an art form of it's own - I haven't gotten even close to where it can go but I do enjoy it as well....

Cheers
Lindy
