I don't know if anyone else will like it, but I just used my high % coconut soap in the shower, and my skin loves it. It's 92% CO, 8% shea, superfatted at 20%. We have stupidly hard water, but the soap just laughed at it and bubbled like mad, lol.

This first batch was unscented, and came about after reading the discussions about high CO, high sf soaps here, and I'm so glad I tried it. It's only 25 days old today, so I bet it's going to be even better as it ages. :D

Awesome!

I made a high coconut oil salt bar that is my favourite soap! I have been using it on my face (I have pretty oily acne prone skin) and it is doing wonders for it! :D Others may find it a bit harsh but it's the perfect soap for me!

good for you! :D

i LOVE coconut/shea soaps. i have terribly hard water in alabama, too. i like 70% coconut, 20% mango, shea or cocobutter and 10% castor bean oil. the castor seems to give it a richer shaving cream lather. i like 15% lye discount and 33% liquid. i usually rtcp or rtcp whipped.

out of all the recipes i've run thru soap calc, i think this is my fave!

ain't soaping fun? :D (better than biscuits!)

Agreed Tess....I have made an 80% CO 20% shea butter at 20% superfat and also one with 20% cocoa butter. They are both great, however I feel the C/butter one has a creamier lather. Enjoy your soap!

@Heartsong "better than biscuits"....YES, definitely

While I love my 75% coconut salt bar, I really don't like my 100% coconut 20% superfat bar. Don't like the lather, don't like the texture of the bar.

I'll have to try coconut/shea.

I just made my first 100% CO soap with Anise scent - I did a 30% superfat and it feels pretty nice. It's only about 10 days old so I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like later on....

I can't wait to try variations of it, I want to do one with both shea and cocoa butters in it. Soaping is so terribly addictive, lol.

I made a 100% Co bar with a 20% S/F. I funnel swirled it with charcoal, and TTO. At first I didn't like it, just from testing a tiny sliver out of the mould. But it has cured for weeks and weeks and weeks now, and I love it. It is a wonderfully creamy bubbly soap that is so good on my skin. I have quite oily skin so I know I could reduce the superfat a bit, I really don't need all that free oil. My next one is going to be a high superfat with some cocoa or shea, maybe the shea butter because I really like what that adds to the soap. I also made another plain coconut with a 10% superfat and coloured that light pink, textured the top in a log mould...and fragranced that one with Lovespell. It's fab!! They are my mothers day presents.
