I've been making batches of what I called Olive Goat Soap.
100% olive oil with goat milk. ( LOVE it )
My question for the resident gurus is, would this be considered a
Castile or a Bastile soap?

Technically, if you're a purist, Castille is 100% OO, water, and lye. But in practice, the term is used pretty loosely to apply to mostly OO soaps.

Who cares what it's called if you like the result?

Ah, I see. Thank you, Judy.

Castile is a pure olive oil soap, Bastille is olive and another oil, not sure if the liquid used makes the name different.
I feel the name matters, if soap makers had not started making fake Castile by adding cheaper oils to save money and calling it Castile there would not be the confusion there is now.

I like the name you are using, nice and honest.

I like the name, too.

I'm not sure if the liquid makes a difference either. I always thought it was just by adding a new oil/butter that would make it bastile.
