Ok my green mica turned on me

Did you gel? I have a hard time gelling my cupcakes. If it is supposed to be pH stable, then it probably morphed due to the temp of the soap.
Or it could be it's not pH stable. Did it say on the site where it was stable or not?

I have had pH stable micas morph while in the pot, but once they are in the mold and gel/saponify, they morph back to the color they are supposed to be, but that usually only happens if I gel my soap, otherwise they stay the weird color they were in the pot.

No I didn’t gel. This is the first time a brambleberry mica has morphed on me.

So I think I just figured out my problem. I started putting my micas in my pitchers before pour in my batch into each pitcher. This is the first time I have done that with this green. On the brambleberry website it says to add at trace which is what I usually do.

When you add it should have no bearing on what the end color will actually be. I usually mix up my colors into my pitchers, then split out my batch to color on portions by pouring into those already premixed colored pitchers. I will also sometimes color my oils before even adding lye into the oils. I very very rarely ever add color at the end of the process. Never had a problem, like I said, unless it's not a pH stable colorant, or if I do or don't gel.

Did the brambleberry site also say whether or not the color was pH (or CP) stable? Not all micas/colorants are created the same and some are just not pH stable. That doesn't mean a supplier won't sell them, because they are not made for only 1 application.

Is this the new or old formula? This mica was re-formulated in Nov 17, so if you have the old formula it may not have been stable in cp soap only m&p. The main colorants in this mica are Chrome Green Oxide, and Chromium Oxide green which both work well in CP. I use those two oxides a lot, and have never had them morph

I just looked back and ordered the mica on October 30th !!
