I measured out oils for a batch of soap in the morning, have to go and buy lye first thing.
At least I would have my oils melted together tonight. Put them on low, but...
Suddenly, the computer was free & I started reading posts- forgot my oils!
I just realized that the funny smell was my oils smoking! I turned it off and
covered the pot, but I'm wondering- how much of my oils is in the air?
I realized that my eyes were burning from the fumes- not exhaustion!
It has been about an hour-Have I ruined my batch? I could weigh
what I have & compare it to what I originally had then make up the
difference with the same percentages- but- does overheating the oils ruin
them? and whose to say which oil actually was lost? It was CO, OO &
Palm. I imagine the OO would (evaporate? or burn?) first.
What do you think? Should I throw it all out?
