Hi ....

In my efforts to become certified Organic I am looking for information on Suttocide. I have the MSDS sheet but can not find any information on whether Suttocide is created using GMO's or if it is processed with sewage sludge or radiation of any sort.

At this point I am willing to purchase Suttocide from whatever supplier can get me the Non-GMO statement LOL ...

alternately if suttocide is not GMO free then i will have to find an alternative preservative.

Any and all assistance will be appreciated.

warmly
Kellyann

I don't know much about preservatives but I know a lot about organics and GMO. In the US, GMO can still be labeled organic, and there are no "non-GMO statements" unless a supplier wants to make one up, but it's self regulated, meaning they don't have to prove it's truly non-GMO. We (the no-GMO) movement are working to change that but for now I think you're going to have a terrible time finding what you want :( I did a couple google searches and didn't have any luck, hopefully someone knows of a source for you.

reL Non-GMO

Thanks for taking the time to message me ... Yes our suppliers are just "making" up the non GMO statements as we needed them ... the CCOF (who is the organization we are being certified through) is requesting them .... it's such fun *grin*

but this is the last piece of the puzzle as it were before we can be passed along to the inspection phase :)

my gratitude
Kelly

If your suppliers are just making the certifications up, and there is no proof behind them - doesn't that make the whole thing a bit of a... well... I don't mean to sound negative but it seems like a crock. You know?

You may (clearly do) mean well, but sounds wishy washy at best.

Even if you are certified "non-GMO" - it seems to me you may well not be at all.

Non-GMO

Ordinarily i might agree with you, but my suppliers are providing their guarantee in writing that their products are created without using GMO's ... but there is no "standard" format for that letter to be issued in is all i meant by them making them up as we went along.

They are not making up the information they are guaranteeing just the format that the letters are issued in.

Thanks
Kelly
