Hi all! I'm Shannon from Ohio. I started making CP soap about 4 months ago, when my DH decided to look up a recipe for oatmeal soap online. Before that, we were doing MP for our own use, since my DH is allergic to just about everything else out there.
It has quickly grown from a hobby to a bit of a business. After trying some neat recipes, like a shaving soap and a pumpkin spice, and giving it away to family and friends, they all want me to make more.
I'm trying to balance the wants of my "customers" for soaps with lots of fragrance oils with my allergy to them. I may just have to stick with essential oils or unscenteds. We'll see.
I was a chem/bio major in college and worked in a research lab for awhile before I went back to get a teaching cert in English. After being home with my DD for the last four years, getting into the chemistry of soap making seems to be just what I needed.
