Hello everyone,
Just found this wonderful site and this is exactly what I have been searching for! All of you are inspiring and with all your talent and knowledge, wondering if I can pick your brains?

I am fairly new to soapmaking. After years of buying handcrafted soaps and always having a strong interest I thought it is time for me to try my hand at it. Right now I am trying to make candy cane shaped soaps. I found a great mold and I have my colors but one thing is puzzling me - how do I just pour into one section of the candy cane without it spilling over to the other sections? This may sound like a silly question but I am completely stumped! I thought there may be some item I am not aware of that you use to block the other sections while you are pouring the soap into the other part.

Any advice/information is most apprecaited.

Thanks!

try a squeeze bottle like they use for ketchup or mustard in restaurants. You can get them cheaply at Walmart or most Dollar stores.

When I do 2 color pours, like cameos, I pour the 1st color very caerful & let it dry fully. Flip the mold over so you can see what the front of the bar will look like & go back with the point of a sharp knife, etc & clean up where soap got & shouldn't have. Then you can take alcohol or even water on a little scrubby or papertowel & wipe the area clean before pouring a second color. Be sure to mist a good layer of alcohol before you pour the second color or the 2 layers of soap will not stick together.
