I decided today to make an orange oil and turpentine stain stick, using 80% coconut oil and 30% lard with a -3 lye superfat. Now the mistake came in, most of you probably remember I soap with 50/50 solution, anyhoo this time I mixed my lye with all my liquid. Fortunetly I had discounted some, because I forgot to deduct my 2.3 oz of turpentine from the liquid. I did not do a large enough of liquid discount to make up for the extra liquid. OOPS!! Oh well will just take longer to cure and now I will have to wait longer to try it :(

Drying is not the same as curing. Just test it according to how it has cured and not according to how it has dried.

What a bummer. It's a shame it does take longer for it to cure with more liquid in it. I've found when I have a fast mover FO and use full water I give it an extra week or two since it takes longer for the evaporation of the extra. Though I know it's still usable after 4 weeks.
