Newbie Mistake...

I decided today to make an orange oil and turpentine stain stick, using 80% coconut oil and 30% lard with a -3 lye superfat. Now the mistake came in, most of you probably remember I soap with 50/50 solution, anyhoo this time I mixed my lye with all my liquid. Fortunetly I had discounted some, because I forgot to deduct my 2.3 oz of turpentine from the liquid. I did not do a large enough of liquid discount to make up for the extra liquid. OOPS!! Oh well will just take longer to cure and now I will have to wait longer to try it

Drying is not the same as curing. Just test it according to how it has cured and not according to how it has dried.

What a bummer. It's a shame it does take longer for it to cure with more liquid in it. I've found when I have a fast mover FO and use full water I give it an extra week or two since it takes longer for the evaporation of the extra. Though I know it's still usable after 4 weeks.
