Hey all!
I'm totally new, to both soap making and the forum.

I'm still in the process of gathering supplies. I hope to be making my first batch of CP next week sometime.

I just took my first shower with handmade soap. A friend had given me a purchased bar for my birthday in August and it's just been sitting around. I finally thought about it and thought, maybe I should try it out before I making my own. I think I'm in love! I was seriously surprised by the lather. I had tried some sort of soap years ago that I thought was handmade, it was nothing like what I just used. I'm even more excited now! The only reason why I'm not making my first batch RIGHT now is because I'm determined to get most of my tools (pots, utensils, etc) at yard sales so I have to wait till tomorrow and Friday to go shopping!

I'm so thrilled to start this new hobby and I'm super excited that I found this great resource! I have found great info online but just reading through it vs being able to actually ask questions is so different!

YAY!

Kudos to getting "pre-owned" supplies. I rifled through my moms stash and took some of her extras and went to Goodwill and Walmart for the rest. I spent less than $30 for everything. I found my scale via a link to ebay posted elsewhere in the forum.

I just made my first batches yesterday, post yours too! :D

I managed to get all my supplies (including 2 new digital thermometers) for about $15. I kind of cheated though, Mom had a bit I could use and Dad has an eBay business so I might have "borrowed" one of his postal scales :p

Made my first batch today! It was small so took quite awhile to trace but I liked seeing it go from stage to stage. I already want to make more! What is it about this activity that makes it so addicting?? All those people buying lye to make meth should try making soap with it instead. They could trade one addiction for a healthier one

Can't wait till I can unmold and cut!
