So I made some tallow lemongrass scented bath soap for my dearest wife (i mean that sincerely). I found a great glass baking dish to use as a mold but after pouring the liquid into the mold I realized I forgot to line the mold! Will the soap pop right out after 24 hours or am I in trouble?! Um....help!

Sorry it most likely will not just pop out. Soap loves to stick to everything. You could try freezing your soap then let it start to build condensation and see if it will come out. You might be able to loosen the edges with a knife and hopefully the bottom will release. If this does not work you could dig it out and rebatch in a crock pot or non reactive pan in the oven. If the soap is not all the way to the top of your dish and it is pyrex you could put it it in the oven to melt down and pour off into another Lined mold. Caution is necessary if the soap is to the top of the dish since it would be hard to remove from the oven without spilling. Hot soap is Hot! Good luck to you, no matter how you save it I am sure your other half will appreciate it. You could also scoop it out and make soap balls

If I had oiled the unlined mold with some of the tallow, would that have made a difference?

The freezer trick worked, thanks! It took lots of tapping and some hot towels, but the loaf popped out and cut just fine. Interesting that the soap is yellow, could that be the lemon grass eo or the fact I had to substitute 20 grams olive oil for tallow (ran out of tallow!). Here's a pic.
