Hello All:
I am fairly new to the soap making world. My mother inlaw got me started in it a while back. I got her involved in quilt makin and she got me into soap makin (good trade off since I am not good at makin quilts).
I read a lot about the process and types of ingredients and oils to use. I started my own recipes that are a big hit in my area. I am currently behind on orders.
The hardest part of making the soap is finding inexpensive ingredient so I can keep the price per bar down. Some things are also hard to find. As luck would have it, my neighbors supply me with lye (they are Amish). I also plan on making my own wood ash lye during Christmas break. I work full time and go to school part time.
Hope to chit chat with others
