I made this soap last yesterday and cut today. Used Black Tea FO from BB. Colorants used are activated charcoal, cappucino mica and copper sparkle mica. While I really like the way it turned out...the white streaking is unexpected...I have never had either of the mica's morph before and I'm not sure that is what happened here as both browns came through... Thoughts? Moved to photo

Probably stearic acid streaks. If so, I want stearic acid streaks just like them. Your soap looks awesome! I actually think the white adds a mysterious look to it.

Also, you should post this in the photos section too. Excellent soap.

It doesn't looks as thick as I think of as classic stearic streaking, but I've seen it as dots, lakes, veins and I have seen some wispier streaks like these. It's clearly not a morphed mica, so I'm staying with stearic.

PJ, are you willing to share your recipe? it might be helpful.

Thanks Everyone! I actually love the results....and will probably never be able to duplicate it!! Very basic recipe - 16 oz Coconut Oil, 16 oz Palm, 16 oz Olive Oil, 2 oz Castor oil, 7.2 oz lye, 16.5 oz distilled water, 3 oz black tea fragrance oil, 1/2 tablespoon activated charcoal...and the micas just until I achieved the desired color

Those are awesome!!!! mysterious looking with the perfect touch of glam. If that's a mica morph I wish my mica's word morph to those colors. I haven't tried activated charcoal yet but your soap makes me want to get my hands on some to give it a try.

What gorgeous soap!! And I LOVE the white streaks!
I've had something similar happen a few times when I mixed colorants by hand - they *looked* well blended, but I had streaks when I cut the soap.

That is one beautiful soap, I have had both those colourants morph on me and not come through at all, it looks like your copper sparkle came through beautifully.

On my tablet it looks 3D and like dark blue waves coming out from it. Very cool play on the eyes.
Curious to see on the computer since I don't see 'white' but think its what might be making it look 3 dimentional.
