Hello to all.
I've been making goat milk soap for 6 months now. I love it !
Been successful 98% of the time.
Question: I am using 22 oz of goats milk
18 oz olive oil
17 canola
11 coconut
6 sweet almond
10 palm
Tryin to add coconut fragrance oil and am getting an oily mess, almost looks curdle. now it will harden and I wipe away the excess oil. What is going on? Is there another coconut scent you would recommend?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Patty

Coconut fo's do funky things to soap. I have no idea why. They usually fade in CP as well.

I've had the least problems with BB's Island Coconut. It discolors, but it's pretty easy to work with.

You're welcome.
Also, I forgot to say, if I have a batch that starts to separate like that I usually throw it in the crockpot and cook it.

Welcome to the forum!

I love coconut fragrances and wish that they would last longer in CP :(

I have a batch of goat's milk, oatmeal and honey that I made in October. The recipe had 20% coconut oil and I used some Dr. Bronner's CO that isn't deodorized. It gave the soap a very light sweet smell that's still there 4 months later. I didn't scent with anything on that batch and don't use FOs. I wonder if maybe using a coconut oil that hasn't been deodorized could help your coconut FO stick a little better?
