I have already been asking desperate questions on the CP forum but here's a bit about me.

I live north of New Orleans in one area that was hit pretty hard by The Hurricane (Katrina). We live on 40 acres with milk goats, cows, honey bees, a horse, a goose and two turkeys. I homeschool my 17 year old daughter and 12 year old son using a program called Classical Conversations. I am a church musician and play various instruments.

I have rosacea and sensitive skin. My daughter has very sensitive skin, is very fair. I started making soap so that we can have the oils and good stuff in our soap. The first recipe using lard that I made has helped us both out tremendously. I am hoping to venture into making other types-for gifts and for our use.

I am looking forward to learning more about soaps. Anyone have a favorite book that they recommend? We have a nice small kitchen that is detached from the house. That is where I make soap but I have no internet so can't check responses as they happen, etc. I am looking for a book that I can use that will take me through several different recipes, etc.

Thanks,
Candy
