Hi, I'm Jacki~ Organizer of the Polycrafters in PDX (meetup.com/Polycrafters) and I'm researching and prepping to share CP Soap Making with a small group in a few weeks! I have made soap once before am nervous & excited!

If anyone has a nice small batch recipe(and directions) with lots of option...., I would love to hear about it! I think we will have up to 6 people and I am hoping to get everyone to the pour and solid enough to transport their molds in about 6 hours! Can it be done?!

Oh, and if you live in the Portland, Oregon area and also like to sew, knit, scrapbook, make cards, bead, crochet or any other crafts... Check out my group! We gather to work on things together! It's always better to craft with others!

Hello & Thanks for being out there!
~Jacki~

Not a class-

Hi Irena~ I understand your concern. It's not a class- it's a work day... yes, I will be hosting and providing supplies... but it is not a paid class! We are a very informal group. Hence why I am doing research at this time.

Thanks for you concern :)

Soap Class

Hi Jackie,

Did you try your group soap making work day?

As a veteran soap class teacher I would urge you to make a few more batches of soap before you even attempt a work day with anyone else. There are just too many variables in making soap and since you've only made it once before you will really want to test whatever recipe you are going to use over and over until you have perfected it.

Otherwise there's no way you will get everything done in 6 hours.

I've taught classes for the past 5 years and it takes me 3 hours to get an average group of folks through the entire process and ready to load stuff into their cars.

I hope you are enjoying making soap.

Yvonne
