I have a bunch of shredded soap from old batches that I end up rebatching.

I've been wondering if I could put shredded soap and pour a new batch over it while it's still warm. I use lye cold process.

Anyone know if this would work?

Yes...I fixed the typo. Is it ok to pour cold process over the shreds that I have in a mold?

I think there is a typo here but I can't figure out what you mean.

Do you mean just pour the shreds in a mold and then pour a new batch of CP over it ?

Yeah, that works fine. Looks cool even. Just make sure that you pour it promptly at trace while it's still rather thin to avoid "voids". It needs to be able to flow around the shreds.

What I do is make the fresh soap, I soap RTCP and then just put handfuls of the shredded soap in (it's a judgement thing of how much) and mix like you would a cake with the spatula to cover all the soap shreds with the fresh runny soap. Put into your mould and give a few good taps on the bench to prevent air pockets. Easy Peasey.

It is typically called confetti soap. There is alot of information in the forums if you want to search for the topic.
