Hi! My name is Jen. I live in CO and am new to soap making, although I'm already fully hooked. It doesn't help matters that I found a store online that is 5 miles from my house. Whenever I get the urge I can pick up new ingredients! Dangerous, for sure. :D I've read a ton of books already but still have questions and am happy to find a bunch of experts to chat with. I am hoping to give soap as gifts this Christmas to my family.

I'm mom to 3 kids, ages 5, 3, and 19 months. I currently work from home with my own craft business making market bags. I'm also a full time nursing student and am trying hard to cram as much crafting as I can into the next 3 weeks before school starts again!

hi, jen, and welcome to the forum! :D

what a dream come true having a soap supplier so close to home! i'd probably end up having to work for them so i could pay for my supplies!

i'd also have to worry about sleeping walking there at night! LOL!

You chose the right time to make soap for Christmas gifts. Make it now and you'll have plenty of time for it to age and you can see exactly what you're giving. Welcome.

Hello!

Welcome!! Am a newbie myself only 7 batches done. And start healthcare information tech program at college mid August. So definitely understand the need. This is definitely a hobby that can become an addiction but in a good way!!!

Thanks all for the warm welcome! I have been reading like crazy and there is so much wonderful info here I don't think I'll ever read enough! But like sewing, soap is something you can always find a use for.

Monet- It's dangerous, especially when I had shipping worked into my play money and now I can take it out. They are super nice too!

Castorfan- I'm so glad I'm early. I started in June so I could have some time to make mistakes. My first batches haven't been pretty enough for gift giving.
