I need some ideas or advice on a couple recipes I need to make soon.

First is for my son in law who has extremely sensitive and dry skin. The only store bought soap he can use is dove and most lotions break him out in hives.
I gave him and my daughter some different soaps to try out but I'd like to make a entire loaf just for him. Any suggestions on a good recipe? I don't want any scent or colors but would like to use beer or milk, which would be better? or can I use both?
I would give him castile but I don't think he would care for the slime.

Second batch if for my daughter. She has requested a pumpkin spice scented soap. I hate pumpkin scents and have no idea where to start with this. Should I use real pumpkin? How much PPO? would a FO be better or could I use something like pumpkin pie spices?
I'd like to use heavy cream for part of the liquid, I think that would make a nice creamy bar for her delicate skin.

How about Soaping101's soap for sensitive skine?

I have used beer (reduced down) and milk, but not both at the same time. My friend who has very dry skin due to a thyroid problem, likes the soap I make with a low cleansing number. She prefers soap made with beef tallow. I aim for a cleansing number between 10-14 for her, preferably closer to 10 and a SF of 7-10%. I also make her a lotion that she swears by.

As to a pumpkin spice there are some FOs out that there smell really good. I have added real pumpkin to soap (I had some that otherwise would have gone in the trash) but have not had time to try that (I really need a shower caddy that holds LOTS of soap). I don't know if pumpkin pie spices will carry the scent through or not

I do like soaping101 recipe, I tweeked it a bit to get the cleansing number down. I think it should work well for both the batches I want to make, added a bit of lard and removed a bit of coconut. Will definitely use calendula.
Can anyone recommend a good pumpkin scent and where I might get it? The local soap supply won't get the seasonal scents in until closer to xmas.

Brambleberry has a few pumpkin fragrances. I think I used this one last autumn. Dumb tip: make sure your HP soap is BELOW the flashpoint temp of the FO before adding it. Ask me how I learned that one!

They've got a few others also. Peak also has a few pumpkin scents. Mind you, these tend to be "pie" scents so they have cinnamon, clove and vanilla and most likely will darken the soap. But if you add real pumpkin pure (which I have) it's orange brown anyway. Amanda's got a great recipe to HP if you want to try it. That was my first succcessful HP soap, other than the FO debacle.

I have made and like this:
80% olive oil
12% coconut oil
8% castor oil

I use a 2.3:1 (water:lye) ratio and it hardens a little faster but still needs to cure 2 to 3 months.
