My future mother in law requested a lilac citrus scented soap, she said the citrus was kind of a mandarin orange smell. Can I just get a lilac FO from Bramble Berry and use the 10x Orange EO I have? Or should I use a different EO/FO? Should I add anything else to it? I've never used a floral before, I've ready scary things about them, I'm nervous and this soap has to be perfect for her

I just used a lilac FO in my balls and found it a strong scent but it has somewhat eased a little on the smell now. I found it traced quite quick, but it didn't matter as I was just making balls with it and wanted it thick anyway. You might need a bit of orange to overcome the smell of the lilac.

Relle.

I just soaped Peak Candle's lilac and it was really nice. I don't like all of their FOs, but they do a really nice job with florals overall IMO.

I like the vanilla idea, I will test it out. I went ahead and order lilacs from 3 places, plus a few more orange/mandarins and will mess around and hope like crazy she likes what I come up with. Good thing I like her (couldn't ask for a better mother in law, I've had 2 others so I know what a gem a good one is!) LOL
