So I have a customer that is requesting wedding soap favors in deep purple and cream. I have a good deep purple but am wondering what to use for "cream" color? I was thinking maybe I will just leave out the TD and that will make the uncolored portion of the soap more of an off white color. Do you think if you were the customer, that would be enough of a cream color for you? Or does anyone have a good recommendation on how to get a cream color? I make cp soap.
Thanks!

Uncolored soap is off whitish but generally dull. I think it's not going to look very good next to purple in a soap, unless ofcourse the purple is also dull but then it would be a dull looking soap. I don't know what would give you a sharp looking cream color as I have not used 'real' colors in my soap yet. May be some lab colors, I don't know.

Do you have a good idea what your base color is? It might be close enough - compare to her color swatches if you can.
Otherwise maybe using a tiny bit of tea in the water for the cream part of the soap would help. You might have to split up some of your water to do this, adding water without tea to the purple part. Or, if you're lucky, the tea in the water doesn't really change the purple.

Ok, I went to my soap rack, found two good looking cream colors. One was mostly olive oil infused with calendula flowers. This was a pale yellow cream. The other one 85% plain olive oil is ivory cream.

I would use the smallest amount of TD to get cream. The base is probably a bit yellow and TD would make it nice and solid creamy colored. But only use a drop or two. It also depends on your FO and if it has yellow in it, then that would help.

I would also vote for using a bit of color for cream. There is a difference in looks between plain base and anything colored and it may not look as uniform as you'd like. I would use some TD, a small amount, and maybe just a whiff of a yellow. Not a bright neon or yellow yellow, but maybe a very small amount of a more golden yellow (Lemon from conservatory, empire yellow from Nurture or even their yellow vibrance) just to give it some warmth.

Nurture also has a mica called Lemon Chiffon that I really like. It's a very light yellow. You could use a small amount of that mixed with a tiny bit of titanium dioxide, that might give you more of a uniform creamy color.

Thanks so much guys, I do have a couple of the colors mentioned and will try that.

I usually use a tiny bit of yellow oxide (or even the tiniest bit of brown sometimes) as well, I agree that uncolored batter can be sort of dull/color absorbing by itself if you are swirling. Also w/r/t to BB Labcolors, I really like them but they do bleed (OK for me, but not sure if it is for you.)
