need a base to make soap ?

i see bases for sale online and i was wondering do you need to buy the bases to get into soap making or not ?

What you're seeing is probably melt and pour (mp) soap base, which is different than cold process soap making.
With cold process all you need is oils & lye.

CP is the only kind of soap I've made! (Though I'm starting to branch out into a little M&P and cream soap...then I'll tackle liquid soap!0

its hard to choose because i wanna make nice smelling soap i was wondering is it possible with CP as well as M&P ?

Yep! You can add fragrances to any soap.

When it comes to CP soap, even my unscented batches have this amazingly clean scent.

I think CP soap is awesome......I felt more elation over my first batch of CP soap than I ever did with MP, which is why I just don't bother with MP anymore. I love the "mad scientist" aspect of CP soap.
