I haven't soaped in a few weeks and decided to make 2 batches this weekend to fill that yearning to create.....So I made a nice soap for hubby and son scented with Aspen Forest which came out very nicely. I was even able get the swirl thingy right. This scent is very woodsy, outdoorsy and quite nice :D

Second batch I scented with Creme Brulee and used the same recipe as with previous soap, just a different scent. I also used a loaf pan for some of the recipe and a Pirouline cookie tin for the rest. No problem with the loaf, came out easy. Cookie tin, a whole other story. I lined the tin with vaseline before pouring the soap. When it was ready to come out I put it in the freezer for a few hours. Then it came time to come out - it didn't....My hubby finally had to resort to using a can opener to open one side to push it through other side. It was very difficult. Not recommended. But the actual soap came out with swirlies too (I swear I don't know how I managed that). At this point I DO NOT like this scent at all. However my son LOVES it and says it smells like caramel or butterscoth. My husband says it smells like candy. Don't know what it smells like to me but I don't like it. Who knows, maybe it'll grow on me. Anyway, here are some pics. It was fun creating again.....

thanks everyone for the lovely compliments! Chrissy, you knocked me back to my senses - I needed to put soaping back into the front seat (although farmtown is fighting tooth and nail for that spot! )

I poured the swirly soap into a silicone slab mold. I've tried slab and loaf, and slabs are just better made for swirly soap where the swirl goes all the way through. Just pour a layer of one color in a zig zaggy way, then another color in a zig zaggy way, and so on till you are done. Then you just take your handy chopstick (well that's what I use) and start swirling in cirles or however you like. Whalla.....swirly soap. :D

oh, it's definitely brown with some pink. Who knows if it will stay that way....ya just never know with soap and colors. I knew that would happen though and was prepared for it. The soap is ok I'm just not too keen on the scent even though hubby and son love it.

Woohoo!!! Beyootiful swirlies Sibi! Thanks for your explanation too - I will try that next time I make my Sweetpea Delight soap instead of an ITP swirl. Perhaps you can swap over the soaps then? If DH & son like the creme brulee scent you can have the aspen forest one?

Tanya :)
