My Lye's Here!!

My Lye was suppposed to be delivered Tuesday. It showed up mysteriously on Wed. very early.... ?? I had been waiting and waiting for it! Just when DID the UPS man come? lolol
Anyway I am making my first soap.

Coconut
Olive
Palm (I don't know what kind I bought but I bought it before I had read threads)
Almond Oil
and maybe Shea Butter but not sure I want to waste it on my first batch!

After you have calculated the recipe on soapcalc do you then add extra oil to superfat the soap? Kind of like I add a bit more vanilla to my cookies? or do you calculate the superfatting in on the calculator? :?:

Still pondering what to put it in! I am using either a plastic tupperware like container or an old box... lol
I have all the oils in a container ready.

Umm it traced SUPER fast! I almost didn't get the fragrance oil in it! ;(
Plus its this awwwwful orangey color! :shock:

Where can you see the colors that you get from the oils?

Well its going to be a soap that only my mother will love!! I couldn't see any place that told how much EO to put in so I put the same amount as FO... :shock:
Its stinks to high heaven of licorice but its soap! How long before I can cut it?
I am thinking I will have to rebatch most of it to dilute the licorice. I will save some bars for my mom because she will want to eat it!

I think its SKUNK soap because I am pretty sure you won't be able to smell skunk after this soap!

I used
1.5 Olive
1 # Coconut
9 oz Palm
4 Almond
3 Grapefruit Extract
9% fat
7.647 Lye
21.28 water

3 oz aniseed

How much grapefruit seed do you all use or do you use it? I don't like wasting the expensive oils.
I waited until they were about 100 degrees before I mixed them together.
This traced SUPER fast. So what can I do to slow it down?
The soap feels nice on my hands!

I don't use grapeseed extract at all, nor do I add it to my soap. The lye will eat it in soap anyway. For me that's just an extra expense.
