My latest soap

Hii, I've been wanting to make a 100% olive oil soap for a while now. Just to see if it's as great as many people claim.

I used 100% olive oil, 1:1 water and coconut milk, kaolin clay, lavender eo and sodium lactate at 1.5%.
The lavender eo scent seemed to have changed, kinda hoping it will change back...
I haven't used my crinkle cutter in a while now, as I like to use stamps on my soap, but seeing it on this soap it looks nice and will probably be used more from now on! (Looks better if you look at it from the top)
I was hoping for a lovely cream colored soap, but looks like that didn't come true...
The white spots in the soap worry me, they do not zap so I suspect it might be the sodium lactate. It was in "powder" form, more like big sugar grains (or do you call them sugar strands in english?). I added it to the oils before adding the lye. Could it be that the sodium lactate didnt fully disolve? If the white spots are indeed the sodium lactate.... Could this be harmfull? (I'm a bit worried about this)

They look good.

The spots are most likely sodium lactate since sodium lactate is water soluble. It's not dangerous though.

Whenever I've used sodium lactate, I always set 1/4 to 1/2 of my water aside, mix the SL in that and then add that into my soap batter.

Your soap looks lovely and I think the textured top is very attractive.

Thank you for the SL advice!!!! You have no idea how worried I was... Can you add the SL to the lye? I've read it on the internet but im a bit of a scaredy pants when it comes to the lye and adding things to it, one time going to the ER with burns (boiling water, not lye) was enough for me. Ever! (Someone sat beside me with massive lye burns and it kinda made a huge impression...)

Never knew how much work making a soap top can be.
*lets try this spoon to make a waving pattern, dont like it, back flat.
Maybe this smaller spoon will help, waves to small, back flat. Maybe this spatula can help... Think again.
What if i make 8-patterns? Ofc not!*
In the end a small tupperware spatula was my saviour. It took me more time to do the tops then to make the soap.
Please tell me im not the only one who has this "problem"
