Here's the end result! It was 95% OO and 5% CO and two tsp of poppy seeds.

I also make the soap dishes out of shatter wine bottles and fire.

Did I do okay for my first batch?

Exceptional! It doesn't look like a maiden voyage at all.

How are you gaining access to this fire source? Is this melting glass something that is do-able at home with a DIY mini kiln or the like?

Yes I own two kilns. I sell these dishes on my etsy to cover the cost of my soap supplies. Since I find the bottles in my local glass recycling bin, my soap bars are almost pure profit if I ever plan on selling them. Here's a pic of my soap dish process:

Soaps look great and I like your glass soap dishes what a great idea! Do you need a glass kiln to fire? I have a kiln, I used to porcelain paint, I believe glass kilns are different???? I'm taking a glass fusing class next month I'm sure I will found then...can't wait, want to make some soap dishes :-D :-D :-D

It looks great! Good job on being careful with the seeds. The first time I used seeds I added way too much which made for an extremely scrubby and painful soap. I don't recommend the experience.

Soap looks great, and the soap dishes are really cool.

That's a beautiful soap, you'd never know it was your first! The soap dishes are very pretty too.
