Looks good. It might trace a bit fast due to the amount of butters in it, but don't go crazy with the stickblender. :)

It looks very similar to a recipe that I've just done, same oil and butters, just slight difference in numbers. Obviously its still curing but it looks like a good bar so far, so I'm sure yours will too :)

*sigh* I still have yet to get this batch in the mold. I had a scary moment were my scale 'grew legs and walked off.' Somehow my scale ended in my nephew's bedroom. How I cannot explain. But it took myself, my 2 nieces, my mother and 1 of my niece's BF to find it.

So now it's again too late to use the SB. But my question is this. I was going to scent it only with Lavender. Can I add Peak's Lemongrass & Sage FO to half for a distinct 'manly' scent. Or will that be too much?

I was thinking using the lavender, pouring off half into the mold then putting some Peak's Lemongrass & Sage into the rest. Then pouring that on top.

I think depending on how lemony that specific lemongrass scent is it may be over the top;however, if it has a nice somewhat earthy tone i think it would be a nice compliment to lavender

IMO the Peak's Lemongrass & Sage isn't over the top lemony. The sage is very strong. But I am smelling straight out of the bottle. I am going to finish this today. I'd like a couple of more opinions as well.

My opinion-just make it :) My other opinion-cut your recipe in half and start with a smaller batch-if you don't like it then not much is wasted! You will want to save your oils to try new recipes!

ok, well it smells soooooo good in here right now. My nieces are saying it smells like Fruit Loops. I it came to trace rather quickly without any scent. And cause I was scenting the second half it was thick but not too bad. I have pics in the mold but I need another computer to get them up.

Unmolded from the can with no problems

Unwrapped. The top is lavender. I bottom is lavender/sage & lemongrass

I will have cut pics later today. Already the soap is pretty hard. Is it normal for it to be a bit sticky feeling? Not quite like the soap is melting, but I have a bit of a sticky residue on my hands when I handle the soap.

Since it's a high soft oil soap it will take a little longer to harden, so being sticky is normal. It just means be patient and don't cut yet ;) (who ever listens that THAT advice though!)
