The white flowers are 100% OO. I wanted to try some Castor and Rose Clay in it so I cut the flowers and added them into the bar mold using 90% OO, 10% Castor and some of the clay. At first I was upset that the clay soaps ashed over badly, but I got over it and now I think it looks pretty cool :)

Very nice!

I saw a youtube video in which the soaper removed ash by holding her CP soap over a container of steaming hot water. It seemed to work. Might be worth a try if you're having trouble embracing the ash (which looks fine to me).

Really!?
I think I will try that, thanks, judymoody :)

I very regularly wait a couple of weeks and then wash the ash off my affected soaps. Afterwards, I let them air dry on paper towels, and they have a beautiful gloss.

That's a neat trick. I should try that!

Thanks for all the responses :)

judymoody, i tried the steam thing, but it didn't really help remove the ash. Maybe I didn't do it correctly. It did give the soap a nice sheen, tho. It's ok, it's weird but for some reason, I'm really not minding the ash too much this time around.

I love both the idea and the finished soaps, you did a really nice job embedding the flowers!

I sooo love them...

I have not tried the steam trick for ash yet but you need a tea kettle and you have to wait till the ash bubbles off...

here is the video....

Wow, thanks so much for all the replies.

MeadowHillFarmCT, I just happened to have watched the second video just this morning! judymoody had suggested the steam method, but after watching these vids, I realize that I probably hadn't steamed for long enough, so thanks!

The soapmaker in the first vid steamed until the ash bubbled, which I did not do.
I'm going to give steaming another try, I'll post pics if it comes out well! :)
