Last night I ended up in the ER with chest pain and spent 10 hours in hospital ruling out a heart attack. As soon as I was released I wanted to rush home and make soap with the new scents I got in the mail today LOL

All and all it wasn't a terrible experience lol. The doctor was just being over cautious. It was most likely a panic attack. I'm 22, I don't think I have to quite worry about a heart attack lol.

I got some Spiced Winter Berry FO and it smells amazing and I am so excited to us it today

Tim884 making soap got me through a LOT of anxiety this past year. It's one of the most rewarding and fascinating hobbies I've done. I hope you are feeling better.

soapmaking was, I swear, amazing therapy post-divorce.

doing something that is is both self-centered (artistic, whatever, but FOR YOU because you WANT TO) and results in a practical product is extremely fulfilling.

Tlm, im really glad you are ok and I find soap making very calming as well.....but please take care of yourself.

Heart attacks can strike at any age if the circumstances are right. So glad you sought the right help. There is huge Tv advertisements here in Australia warning people to dial 000 ( our emergency number ) if they suspect a Heart attack or stroke, as many people just shrug it off and think it will pass. thankfully it was a false alarm in your case.

I became a soapmaker post divorce. I totally agree!

Up on my soap box...

ahem

Speaking as a cardiac ICU nurse (over 15 years exp) I advise people to never ignore symptoms. There is a campaign that the Heart Foundation are running in Australia based around 'would you recognise the symptoms of a heart attack' alot of people dont. Your first heart attack could be your last.

You did the right thing. You will never get ridiculed or chided for calling 000 (our 911) or going to emergency with chest pain or similar symptoms. I have seen a CABG (bypass) on a 28 year old, it does happen to young people.

Off soap box now...

Glad to hear you are ok. Let us know how your soap turns out.

Ah yes ... the dreaded panic attack. Have had a few of those myself and I think I got my first one at about 22 as well.

And yep soaping is a great stress release, not so much making the soap for me...or the cleaning up afterwards but the unmolding, cutting and then just looking at my soap babies lined up nice on the shelf...ahhhh that's somehow very very soul soothing for me.
