On Thursday I get my shipment of coconut oil. My first bulk order of any oil. I'll be experimenting with Titanium dioxide, trying to make a white bar that smells nutty. I have some nutmeg essential oil coming and will have to troll GNC and th herb stores for other EO that might compliment nutmeg...

any ideals?

My first wholesale/consignment bars are sitting in a store right now, I will wait until Friday to see if any of the 15 bars have moved. I posted in the business area of the forum a website with a really easy way to make cigar bands for my soap. I contacted another store to see if I could show my wares and gave two bars of soap to two chatty-cathy's at a local elementary school (moms, not kids  )

I hate that I missed to opportunities to participate in two flea markets last weekendbecause of the threat of rain, then it never rained

Looking forward to soaping two BIG batches, one CP and one hp

maybe it's a blessing consider it an opportunity to see how see how your soaps hold up at least for a few weeks...

Congrats phillysoaps! What scents did you choose for your first consignment?

the chocolate/oatmeal shea
the orange oatmeal shea

seem to be the most popular

Congratulations!
How large of batches are you making and how are you making them? I had good luck with a 5 gallon bucket and a paint mixer attachment for a drill. You can heat the oil with a bucket heater or imrpovise with hot water heater parts :D

Yesterday I talked to another soap maker in the area and he gave me contact info for some local suppliers that he reccomended. If you need materials just PM me and I'll type out the list for you.

I used to work for a place here that made heaters for pipes. They were ceramic tiles that wrapped around the pipe used in plastic plants. I wonder how those would work for making soap. LOL

I bet they would make one for the proper temps if someone had a need for it.

Great ideals, I heard about using the 5 gallon bucket which might be the maximum i can handle cause this 45 year old body has limited upper body strength...I'm stepping over to 2 crock pots...baby steps

Whatever works for you is the best way to do it. That's what's great about making soap, you find what works best for you and go with it.
