Does anyone have any answers to goats milk soap going moldy?
I want to keep my soap as natural as possible but i am having real issues with mold

Are you sure it's mold? I made some Goat's Milk bars and gave them to my inlaws and they told me that my soap had molded. It didn't mold it just got white spots when it was left in the shower I think because the goat's milk discolored to brown as it cured. It would help if you could post a pic!

.. haven't had any mold. Are they being cured in a dry-ish sort of area? I cure in my basement, and run a dehumidifier.

Also- as long as we're talking about mold, milk soaps...

I had read that there really is no reason to use a preservative for ANY CP soap, because the process itself is preservative (in the verb sense!). Anyone have any info on this?

I did read that too, somewhere.

Pictures or your recipe would help. I have GM soap from over a year ago and there's no mold on it.

Is your soap MP or CP? I ask because I experienced a spoiled and icky MP soap made with goatmilk once (made by another soaper), but I've never heard of or experienced milk going bad in CP.

IrishLass :)

The only thing I've seen go moldy with CP is rose buds placed on top of the soap. I've not seen any botanicals inside the soap go moldy.....
