Molds my husband made for me

My husband made me 2 of these. I love them. I have tested them out in the oven and the freezer, and they are fine. I get 19 -1 inch bars out of them, if I am really good at my cutting, usually I get 18 nice 1 inch bars and 1 skinny bar. I told him that he should sell them.

That's a gorgeous mold. I love the liner. My friend made me one, but the liner isn't very smooth so I'm having trouble w/it. I would definitely buy one if he sold them.

The liner is made of silicone rubber. We buy it, mix it, and pour it into a form we made, the inside comes out really smooth and I am working on making the outside smoother, but the outside of the liner being lumpy doesn't affect my soap He said if he sold them, he would have to ask $90.

Okay, newbie question, but why have a mold if you have a liner?

I have found that the silicone molds bow out, so having the mold holds them in shape and also insulates at the same time. You can also line the wood with butcher paper and not use the silicone liner.

I agree, I order the 5 lb silicone liners from Brambleberry they are fairly thin and my husband made molds for them to fit in. Love them.

Oooh, it looks fantastic! Make sure to tell hubby he should branch out and make custom sizes, too! I'd love one of those, but a 19 bar mould is a little on the HUMUNGOUS side for me. LOL Would he be able to make, say, 5 or 6 bar tall moulds? If he could, then I'd buy two!
