Hi All!

I'm very confused about the measurements of my new crafter's choice silicone mold #1501. The website said that it will hold 40-44 ozs. I made a 44 oz batch intending to use one mold. I ended up using both molds and filled the molds almost to the top. I only used 1 oz of FO, 1 tbsp of lemon powder and 1/4 tsp of oxide, so not a lot of extra stuff to account for all the extra weight. I just put the mold on the scale and filled it with plain water and I got a measurement of 38.5 ozs. I am so confused. I know I'm not good with math, but this should be a very simple straight forward thing. What I'm I missing.

The 40-44oz is for the net weight of v the soap. For mine, I've found that 28-30 oz of oils fills that mold perfectly with little left over. I always have a few small silicone shapes mold for any extra.

next time, when in doubt, just calculate the volume of inside measurements and times by 0.4
like detroit said, yours should come to 28oz of oils based on the mold's measurements.
