MMS cocount FO experiment #1

Soaped it yesterday. I used .8 oz Coconut (the plain one) and .3 of Special Edition Vanilla to give it a little extra kick. When poured it smelled very close to Coppertone sun tan lotion. Not quite, but close.

Unmolded - it has lost most of the coconut fragrance, but I'm thinking that maybe it will come back. I have several that do that after a few days.

Will post cured soap update.
I only made a 1# batch.

Anyone else have any luck with coconut FOs??
Is Coco Cabana any good? It's from wholesalesuppliesplus I think.

I had some MMS coconut about 5 years ago (I don't think it's changed since then) soaped it plain and it went brown and didn't smell right quite right. It didn't really morph, it just got dulled somehow. I mixed it with other things (best in small amouts) and it lended a nice note to other things you could pick up in the overall scent and never faded. Once I tried doing half coconut and half pineapple and that didn't work, too sweet. Better at one fourth or fifth and then the rest pineapple.

I tried it a couple of years ago. Used 0.75 oz. per lb. of soap. It mostly faded and whatever little scent was left over ended up smelling like playdough.

Yes - there is no coconut fragrance in this. It's ........ something and something sort of like vanilla, but not as good. Bummer .....
