This is the neatest bowl I have for lotion It holds 13 qts so is perfect for 2 gallon batches of lotion. I would not use it for soaping as it is not the greatest stainless. Nope, magnets will not stick.
What I like about it is the fairly wide flat bottom so I can melt then heat and hold my oils right on a burner plate. After quite a few batches the bottom of the bowl has not discolored. I do not melt my oils on high because I do not want them to burn. After all the butters, oils and waxes are melted I sometimes have to kick up the heat setting to bring up to 70º C then turn down the heat and hold for 20 min
