Mistake!

Hi Just joined. Beginner soap maker. Threw on the ingrediants for a melt and pour base and accidentally put the glycerine in with my oils before lye!! What will happen or not happen if I continue? I assume it's a flag as lye ratio will be affected. Can I save it?

So you are making a melt and pour soap base? That's pretty complicated for a beginner. I'm not sure i quite understand your question. Can you rephrase?

Sorry, and yes, I get way ahead of myself. I was melting oils, and instead of doing oil/lye mix and bringing to trace, after which glycerine is added, I threw glycerine into croc pot with oil! Do am wondering if I can use this mix in some way? Is it worth adding the lye and attempting to bring to trace, or should I just bin the lot?

The glycerin should be used as a solvent for the HP paste. I wouldn't waste my lye.

Ok, I'll bin it. Also, if a recipe calls for .5 Oz lemon ess oil and .5 TeaTree and I only want to use Lemon would I put 1 oz lemon or stick to .5 total ess oil?

With any EO or fo swapping you need to know the maximum safe amount for that particular one. If you can use twice as much as you planned and it still be safe, it's safe to do so.

^^^what @The Efficacious Gentleman said. You can use EOCalc.com to put in one EO or a blend of EOs to find maximum usage rates for the type and amount of product you plan to make. The most commonly-used EOs are included in their list.
