If I use mica, should I dilute in rubbing alcohol first?
They are using MP.I mix mine with the melted oils from my soap (before I add my lye)
OH! I must have missed that! Yes, just put it straight in!They are using MP.
Ok. Thank you.In my minuscule experience, if you want to have even color and no clumping, mixing in a little alcohol first is a must.
Again, Thank youNo, don’t mix with alcohol. It will cause issues and form a skin. I just mix my micas right into my MP soap.
They are using MP.
you have to stir it really well after melted. I always just mix my mica in with my m&p, never use additional glycerin, or alcohol (yes, shunt is right it forms a weird skin on the soap) and have never had a problem. Sometimes I get a bit over zealous with my stirring and have to slightly spritz the M&P with alcohol to remove the bubbles, but one small spritz will do the trick for that.okay, I have a question then... how do you prevent clumping? the first time I tried it straight into the mix, I got some bit that clumped together and made dark spots in my soap.
