is it possible to melt soap after its made and cured? i was wondering if i could melt some shaving soap into a few tin cans i have. would the melting affect the oils? any separation?

Sure you can. You might need to add a teensy of water though. Its also called rebatching and there is plenty of info on that!

Do you have to wait for the soap to cure several weeks before rebatching?

No, you can rebatch it right away. It'll be harder to grate if it's still slightly soft.

A note on tin. If the person shaving uses water on the soap in the tin, won't it rust?
