Ok. Maybe it's the manufacturer I bought from. I looked at my notes and from memory, and I can't think of a reason to have the slight fish odor related to overheating

Indeed. I have 20lbs of btms and btms-50 that came from different suppliers and one has the typical btms smell and the other smelled fishy. I've used both and I can't smell the fishy odor in the final product. And there were no other issues either. I spoke with the manufacturer of the fishy smelling one and I do think he said it was due to the way it was stored. After that I began
removing all of my supplies from their packaging and storing them in sterilized mason jars. I was so happy when Ball recreated those amber jars. 😁👍🏻
