Has anyone ever used this in any of ther soaps? If so, what was the benefit and how do you use it?

Marsh mallow root

Hi,

I've used this herb in my shampoo bar. It has been used for centuries for it's soothing effects. In a shampoo it acts as a detangler and also may have antibacterial properties thus helping with itchy scalp.
I infuse my liquid oils with herbs, keeping the temperature low. I'll infuse for at least several hours or better yet overnight. You can also make an infusion of your liquids (water, tea, juice or aloe mix) with herbs - this one will make a mucilage of your liquid.
Also, I strain the liquids sometimes twice either through a cheesecloth or even a coffee filter-although that can take some time and stirring.

So if I infuse this into my oil how much if I were to use the powder would I add ppo?
Thank you

Marsh mallow root

I usually use 2 Tlbs. of each dried herb for 2 lbs. of oil but that's just my guess. So to me it looks right but not too much. I've read that you need to use more if the herb is fresh.

I haven't be making soaps for that long, so if anyone else uses infusions please post!

I just found about this. Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like or know where to get it?? I"m very interested.....

Marshmallow root and lye

Hey, I was thinking of infusing some of my water with marshmallow root, but I'm not sure how it will reach with lye. I read somewhere that it has a slightly acidic pH. Does anyone have experience with this?
