Making Shampoo bars

I don't know what it is about shampoo bars, but they are so tactile and fun to make. It's kinda like playing with kids floam lol. Made 2 bars to test out. And, I made a shampoo paste. Some pop up ads piqued my interest. I'll prolly pass on one shampoo bar to my sister, along with a conditioner bar. Fingers crossed!

Do you haveany suggestions for ingredients that improve slip/combability in a bar? Sometimes I think they clean TOO well and it's difficult to comb or run fingers through.

I do use a conditioner bar afterwards and sometimes even a light hair oil. My hair is dry to begin with, and fine.

I agree with @Misschief about using a separate conditioner bar. That way, you don't have cleansing ingredients fighting with coating ingredients. Conditioner bars are easy and fun, too!

I agree with @Misschief about using a separate conditioner bar. That way, you don't have cleansing ingredients fighting with coating ingredients. Conditioner bars are easy and fun, too!

I do make them as well. I just wanted something that makes my hair fell a little more workable after the shampoo bar. A happy medium somehow lol

Keep in mind that, like soap, shampoo is a wash-off product. You can make it as gentle as you want but it's designed to strip away dirt and oil. To mitigate that cleansing, I only wash from my scalp to ears and only condition from the ears down. As well, forget the old "lather, rinse, repeat"; I was only once and, if necessary a second time only around the hairline at the front, where my hair tends to get a little oiler than anywhere else.

It is a big change from the feel of liquid shampoo to the bar. I lovethe clean from the bar. Just want the ability to get my fingers through my hair afterwards lol.
