I was inspired by some soaps I saw this afternoon. I've done CP for awhile and never cared to try HP (except for liquid soap and 1 batch I was forced to cook because I left out oil) until I saw these. So I came right home and broke out the crock pot!!

So here's my recipe

12oz Olive
6oz Palm
4.8 Coconut
1.2 Castor
2 Tbsp colloidal oats
1.5 tsp sodium lactate

SF

.6 Babasu
.6 Jojoba
1.5 oz coconut cream

Again.. The husband thinks I'm nuts! Wild and crazy Friday night over here
::haha::

This is about 20 minutes in and I mixed with the stick blender once more to incorporate the oily island that formed on top.

20 more minutes, I moved it to a bowl to cool (thanks for that tip obsidian) added the SF ingredients and I plopped it into the mold.

Looks good! Looks like you are well on your way to a new kind of soaping addiction LOL!

I like the rustic look of hp too. I do mostly hp, but sometimes I get swirl envy and have to do some cp LOL! With HP I love that I can make a little ball of soap from the scrapings of the pot after the cook and use it right away! I love that the only raw soap I have to clean up is on my stick blender. I don't have to ever worry about problems with fo's like seizing, ricing, or separation. I can add my specialty ingredients after the cook and know they won't be touched by lye.

Fantastic job on your 1st HP soap! I'll bet it will be a wonderful winter soap! Enjoy!

Looks great! My 1st soap was Hp. It looked less intimidating for starting out than CP and less messy.
I'm hooked on Cp now but still do an Hp batch occasionally. I have not been able to make a very pretty Hp batch yet but I do like the rustic look of them also.

Thanks all. I'm already thinking of my next batch. Definitely going to up the liquids because the soap wasn't sticky and so easy to cut the next day.. I can afford to use more water in this recipe and then hopefully achieve a smoother look.
