I am trying to buy some magnesium hydroxide powder and this is the link given on the forum:

As you can see, although it costs about $14 in the US, in the UK it is about £45! I was wondering whether I can use magnesium oxide (not hydroxide). I thought that I could crush those tablets but my question is: Is it the same stuff? Would it work in the same way? Here is the link:

You probably can use the oxide just fine, I don't know what the "bulking agents" will add (if I remember right you wanted to made a deodorant). I use magnesium sulfide (epsom salts) with no issue. The magnesium is the important part.

this is a list of magnesium grades for a reference

I use milk of magnesia just after I shower (I shower before bed) and I use Epsom salts dissolved in water with a few drops of lavender and tea tree when I get up. For both I spray it on and rub in/wait to dry.

As far as I can tell they both function because of the magnesium. The Epsom salt concentration I use is a little too strong for both morning/evening use (I think I was starting to have a physical reaction) but the MOM wasn't strong enough alone. Switching off seems to balance it all out for me.
