Did you master batch your lye, 50% water and 50% lye? It appears that’s the case, @Iceball24. Using master batched lye at 50/50, your calculations are correct!

OP is using the title to provide important information, and that's a bit confusing.

The question they're asking is independent of the recipe calc they're using. OP is using a "masterbatched" 50% lye solution. They want to dilute that lye solution to a 27% lye concentration by adding more plain water.

There's nothing wrong with using Soapcalc, but it isn't the most helpful calc when a person wants to use a masterbatched lye solution. The Soap Making Friend calc is a bit more user friendly for situations like this. SMF calc has the ability to calculate this information directly -- no need to break out the calculator and pencil.

@Iceball24 -- Your math is correct. Not sure why you're wanting to soap with 27% lye concentration, however. That's a very generous amount of water if you're making soap with a cold process method. There are a few recipes that do fine with this lye concentration, but most recipes do better with something around 33% lye concentration.

That's correct. I use 50/50 solution too. Those calculations give you a 2:1 water lye ratio. It you wanted a 2.5:1 ratio you'd be able to figure that out too.
