Lotion Making-Hydrosol Substitute

My lotion formula requires Hydrosol made from an herb which I don't have.
Can I make a herbal tea for the substitute?

Anyone have recommendations?

Just use water instead if you can't source a properly preserved commercial hydrosol.

Do not use tea. It will just contaminate your lotion with bacteria and other microbes.

Relax, there's no such thing as a lotion recipe "requiring" a hydrosol let alone a specific hydrosol. As jusjacqui mentioned simply sub for distilled water or another liquid. If you desire a botanical in your lotion you can always use a botanical extract. You can still get the benefits of a botanical(s) in an extract in a lotion.
