Does anyone know at what temperature lotion starts to set up at?

When we started mixing up our batch it was so runny and i kept blending and blending to no avail. Finally, my husband put it in a cold water bath to see if that would work and it did!

Then it got too thick and we couldn't pour it into the bottles so we put it in the microwave just a teensy bit too long it seems so cold water bath again.

Eventually we got the right consistency and we piped it in using my (now lotion) icing bag. But i forgot to take the temp! Maybe anyone knows before i tackled the next batch?

Also, how do you sterilize the bottles? I used bleach wash first then hot water. Again it was really hot water and I melted the bottles a bit. I can't sell warped bottles! lol

Thanks!

To sterilize the bottles there is a baby bottle sterilizing solution that you can use.

When I make lotion I SB it together and then pour into my bottles once it has cooled down enough for preservative. Then it will thicken up over the next 24 - 48 hours during which time it may separate a bit and if it does, just shake it back together......
