Hi Everyone,

I'm looking at getting a base recipe for my soaps Using Tallow, Palm and coconut oil. I'm stll pretty new to this an would love to hear any ideas you may have.

In my opinion tallow and palm are interchangable...

Palm for a vegan bar and tallow for a regular bar.

Can you get olive oil? If you can...

I would start with:
40% palm (or tallow)
30% olive oil
20 % coconut oil

If you make this bar of soap and decide you would like something more conditioning, then up the olive.

You can also start experimenting with adding 3-5 percent butters, fancy oils (avocado, sweet almond) and I would add castor oil (3-5%)...I love castor oil.

If you can't get other oils then maybe try:
tallow (or palm) 70%
coconut oil 30%

But you'll get a much better bar by adding olive oil and other butters...

Be sure to go to a lye calculator and plug in your oils/butters to get your lye/water amounts.

Good luck!
