So I have made 2 different recipes for lip balm. The first one I used beeswax prills. The balm tastes great, but the prills have seemed to separate from all other ingredients leaving it very "grainy" or rough to apply.
The second recipe I used beeswax that I shredded from a block. I has seemed to separate as well, although not as bad, and left chunks in the finished product.
Here is the recipe for the second batch.
1 cup almond oil
1/2 beeswax
2 tablespoons honey

Does anyone have any experience or advice to pass on?

Are you melting it enough?

I use the little beeswax beads (not sure if they're called prills?) and they don't blend in well unless I reeeeally heat the mixture up. I tried doing the double boiler method to melt everything - but the little beeswax beads just kept floating around inside the rest of the melted oils. I ended up putting it in the mic and they melted fast.
