just tried my first lip balm batch! cool! the only prob is that i was filling each tube w/ a plastic pipette and after a few tubes the pipette clogged up with the cooling lip balm. i only had 2 pipettes so i had to stop! i tried reheating the pippettes in the microwave but that didn't seem to work....any suggestions?

i added about 10 drops of mint lip flavored oil....tried some and it tastes nice, consistency feels good too. my daughter approves!

i used tabitha's recipe of 1/3 coconut oil, 1/3 cocoa butter and 1/3 veg wax (begins w/ a c' can't remember the name now....) and the consistancey seems pretty good, soft but not too soft.

I have never had luck w/ pipette for that same reason. I use small disposable cups & crunch a small pour spout on one side. If it is too soft just decrease your oil a td bit.

Hmm - I filled pots with pipettes and it worked out just fine.
I wonder if my balm was too hot to begin with? It works though - so... its all good.

I want to try those BitterCreek Flav Oils that were talked about on another thread.... =)

I always use pipettes. The plastic disposable ones.

I find that as long as the mixture stays hot then I'm fine. When the mix starts to cool I stick it and the pipette into the microwave for a quick zap, then back to filling.

Tho it's getting harder lately cuz I desperately need bifocals...

i have bifocals and it's not enough.....still can't get the fill level quite right. i thought it was full but it really wasn't
